Walmart In Brazil Is Considered Expensive By The Masses

Postby EnterTheSandman » Thu Aug 28, 2008 5:39 am

My Brazilian friends tell me that most people in Brazil who shop at Walmart are part of the A and B class, basically the segment of the Brazilian population that belong to the top 10% highest income earners. Here in the U.S it's the opposite, Walmart's prices are considered a bargain by the masses and not expensive at all. More proof that Brazil is phucking pathetic and how weak the per capita purchasing power of the average Brazilian. You know you are poor as hell when you think that Walmart is an expensive place to shop at. Here in the U.S even Black ghetto trash from the hood/housing projects and Whites from the trailer parks can afford to shop at Walmart.

first off dingleberry walmart is more a grocery store than a dept store here in brazil, i personally shop there because they got a lot of good brands at decent prices. Ive actually found walmart to be cheaper than most of the other supermarkets in my neighborhood. However it is not the kind of place i would go to get cheap clothes and toasters, its mostly a food store

The same Brazilians that also think Blockbuster is too expensive to rent or buy dvds and hence why they prefer to buy bootleg bad screen quality dvds at feiras. In Brazil only playboys and patricinhas can afford to buy dvds at Blockuster. Blockbuster is considered upscale in Brazil, but than again all American franchises down there are.

The only person I know who buys DVDs from BB is my crazy girlfriend. I'm always looking for a jack with bootleg stuff. I'd loose my mind in China.

Actually....dollar stores and those Big Lot stores are bottom end vs Walmart these days. I wouldnt buy clothes but household things are at dream prices for a single man.
Me just loves me some Erika Coimbra, volleyball hottie.
